The Hestra Fält Guide Glove is a superb winter glove designed specifically for heavy use in the outdoors. It has been a trusted companion of ours here at Woodlore for many years, and is named after Sweden’s leading expert in the field of survival training, Lars Fält, who was also involved in the development of the glove. A tough-yet-supple glove made entirely of leather, the Falt Guide Glove comes complete with a pair of removable wool liners. This inner glove features wool terrycloth on the palm and wool pile on the top of the hand, and is of course highly insulating. This two-part system of separate inner and outer gloves provides numerous benefits. Removing the wool liners after use allows both parts of the glove to dry much quicker than all-in-one gloves, which is extremely useful when you’re out in the snow day after day. For use over prolonged expeditions, it is recommended to take a spare pair of Hestra Liners with you, which can then be used while your first pair are left to dry back at camp. When dexterity is an issue, the leather outer glove can be used without the liner, offering better feel and control.

For use in extreme cold, the Falt Glove can be teamed with an over-mitt, such as the Hestra Seam Sealed Shell Mitten. The Falt Glove can also be used with other liners in the Hestra layering system.
